The dusty plains of the savannah, brushed with sweet grass; the steamy richness of the jungles, soaked in scent and colour; the harsh beauty of the Sahara, draped in sand and myth; this is Africa.

Journey through this stunning country with Acoustic Africa: a music journey through the amazing history and richness of African guitar traditions led by three African performers: Malian superstar, Habib Koité, Oliver Mtukudzi and Afel Bocoum.

Habib Koite plays music that honours the diverse musical traditions of his Malian homeland and creates new innovative music for the future of Africa. He’s appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman and in prominent magazines such as People and Rolling Stone.

Oliver Mtukudzi is known for his mbira-music – compositions created through a traditional African thumb piano. His music also incorporates pop influences, South African and Zimbabwean styles and the traditional drumming of his clan.

Afel Bocoum brings both prowess as a musician, lyricist and composer; in 2002, Afel collaborated with Damon Albarn, the lead singer Blur, on the internationally acclaimed CD, Mali Music.

It is an ancient continent, rich beyond measure in history and culture— Africa is waiting for you. Experience the inspiration, spirit and soul of this amazing place through Acoustic Africa!
