Steamy evenings of saffron-coloured sunsets, flavours of sweet mango and sour tamarind, rich scarlet silks and glittering gold adornments; this is a country lush with history and culture from the banks of the Ganges to the Himalayan mountains. Journey through villages, temples, jungles and plains; this is India Calling: An Evening with Kiran Ahluwalia and Rhythm of Rajasthan.
Kiran Ahluwalia sings of those experiences which unite us all; love, loss, celebration, spiritualism and divine joy. Her music is inspired by ghazals— ancient poetic forms— and Punjabi folk songs. She brings intricate, unique artistry and blazing passion with her sensuous music.
Tales of heroes and villains, lovers and fighters, myths and legends come to life through Rhythm of Rajasthan’s inspired music. A group of folk musicians and dancers of western Rajasthan, India, Rhythm of Rajasthan celebrates traditional songs and melodies through their unique musical style coupled with dance.
It promises to be a night lush with music and artistry from a country renowned for fantastic and dazzling history, culture and spectacle. Spicy as vindaloo, breathtaking as a Bengal tiger and more exotic than a trip to the Taj Mahal, experience India Calling: An Evening with Kiran Ahluwalia and Rhythm of Rajasthan.
